Bill Gates

Bill Gates is definitely a pioneer in the computing industry and is a household name by now. His contributions to the personal computer are unmatched in the industry. It is the most popular operating system in the world and has become the standard for what people expect when they turn on a computer.

Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs was another pioneer in the computing industry. He will forever be remembered for his contribution to society and to the computing industry as a whole. Jobs was the founder of Apple Computers and helped develop the Mac computer. His company also came up with the idea for the iPod, iPhone and iPad, among other things. He was also instrumental in Pixar Studios and contributed to computer animation breakthroughs.

Tim Berners-Lee

Tim Berners-Lee played a vital role in defining the way that we use computers today. He is widely credited as the man who invented the Internet. While there were several people for him had contributed to the technology that we use as the Internet, he developed HTML and WWW in 1990 and 1991. Can you imagine what using a computer would be like if we didn?t have this technology available to us? Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard

Although Hewlett and Packard are two different people, they?re included together for obvious reasons. They founded HP in 1939 and after that, they contributed some great advances to the field of computing. Their first product was an audio oscillator. They originally sold a few of their oscillators to Walt Disney. They released what was known as the world?s first ?personal computer? in 1968. It was basically an advanced form of scientific calculator that works faster than other scientific calculators of the day.

Sergey Brin

Sergey Brin is a Russian computer scientist who helped found Google in 1998. With the help of Larry Page, Sergey designed a search engine that was able to organize the world?s information like it had never been organized before. While there were search engines before, the algorithm that they came up with completely revolutionize the way that we find information. Today, people use the term ?Google? as a verb when they want to look up information online. They approached the task of searching information differently than it had been done before to much better results.
